On December 17, 2021, Eid started distribution of the 3D dungeon RPG "Wizardry Gaiden Five Trials" developed by 59 studio on Steam. In this article, we will deliver a simple manual for this work. Even if you have experience with the series, there may be information unique to this work that you know for the first time if you skim through it. I hope that as many adventurers as possible will challenge the vast labyrinth, survive at the end, and obtain glory and honor.
When you select the scenario you want to play on the title screen, you will start in the fortified city. First, create a character at the "Training Ground" in the "Outside of Town", and then form a party at the "Tavern". Enter the labyrinth from the "outside of town" and repeatedly search and return to strengthen your party and aim to achieve the objectives imposed in each scenario. There are pre-made characters in the tavern, so you can play without creating a new character.
There is no clear protagonist in this work, and immediately after the start of the game or immediately after being wiped out, you will move to the fortified city without any party members. For information on what to do in the event of an annihilation, please check one of the TIPS in this article, "Forming a second party when annihilated - Collecting bodies".
You can create a character at the training ground on the outskirts of town. At this time, the creation procedure will change depending on which of the following is set for the "Create character" type in "Utility" → "Options" in the menu that can be selected at the outskirts of town.
■Creating a character TYPE AAfter entering a name, select an occupation. After that, select race, personality, and gender, and finally assign bonus points. You can only choose a personality that is suitable for your chosen profession. You can choose any profession from the beginning regardless of the amount of bonus points, but compared to the "TYPE B" described later, "the bonus points you receive are likely to be less", There is a restriction that "you must be around 20". ■Character creation TYPE BAfter entering a name, select race, gender, and personality, select a job within the range of bonus points you have obtained, and freely distribute the remaining points to decide. To do. The age will be 14-15 years old, but depending on the initial status of each race and the bonus points obtained, there will be cases where you cannot become a class that requires high ability values, such as a lord or ninja from the beginning. To do. In that case, if you reach the required status for each occupation by leveling up, you can change jobs by "Change occupation" at the training ground. However, if you change jobs, you will be about 5 years older. There are five races in the world of this work, and they have the following characteristics. Each race has different initial ability values, but there are no job restrictions, and any race can take any job.
Even if you are the same race, some initial stats will differ depending on your gender. In the five pre-recorded scenarios, if you choose a woman, you will have less power than men, but you will have more vitality. User scenarios may differ from official scenarios in terms of how stats rise and fall and the degree of difference.
There are three types of personalities: Good, Neutral, and Evil. Good and evil are mutually exclusive, so you can't form a party of both personalities in the tavern. Neutrals can party with either personality. Also, if good and evil encounter "friendly" monsters in the labyrinth, their personalities may change depending on whether they fight or leave.
There are 8 types of adventurer jobs, and they have the following characteristics. In parentheses is the personality that can be the job. Bishops, samurai, lords, and ninjas are positioned as advanced classes, and have the characteristic of being harder to level than the lower class warriors, wizards, priests, and thieves.
Characters have 6 types of stats, each with the following characteristics.
You can change the graphics displayed by selecting "Examine character" → "Change mark" for the created character. . If you select "Face 18" to "20" with no image set, you can set it to have no image, or you can set your favorite graphics by storing your own images in a predetermined folder (custom portrait function). For more information on custom portraits, please refer to this article.
The Fortified City consists of the following facilities. The specific name depends on the scenario.
Forming a party, confirming character details, equipping weapons and armor, exchanging items, etc. can do
[TIPS] Collect/divide moneyThe money you get from the labyrinth is evenly distributed among the parties. If you want to make a big purchase at a store, or if you want to borrow the power of the temple even if you have to pay a large donation, collect money from any one person. When you stay at the hotel, your HP and the number of times you can use spells will recover depending on the quality of the room and the number of days you stay. Also, if the experience value reaches a certain level, it will level up.
[TIPS] Effects of Aging and Use of StablesAt the inn, unless you stay in a room with a simple bed or higher with your HP fully recovered, the number of days will elapse depending on the length of your stay, and your character will ages gradually. After reaching a certain age, abilities tend to decrease when leveling up. Aging depends on the character, and resting in the stable only restores MP, but the number of days elapsed is minimal, so rest the spellcaster in the stable → heal your companions with spells... If you repeat this, you can stay overnight. Minimize aging. In that case, recovery will be done on the camp screen immediately after entering the labyrinth from the outskirts of town.In addition to buying and selling weapons, armor, and tools, you can also identify indeterminate items and remove curses from some equipment for a fee.
[TIPS] Main Weapons and Sub Weapons On the status screen, "M" next to the name of the weapon you have equipped is your main weapon, and "S" is displayed. What is shown is a secondary weapon used by subs. The concept of primary and secondary weapons may not even exist in some scenarios. Weapons marked with a "W" are held with both hands, so they cannot be equipped with secondary weapons or shields at the same time. [TIPS] How to see the damage performance of a weapon There is no problem if you just look at the number of ". 1D6 + 1 is an expression that imitates the `` table talk RPG '' that can be said to be the ancestor of all computer RPGs, and means `` roll a six-sided die once and add 1 to the result. In other words, it has exactly the same meaning as "2-7", so you can regard it as a flavor-like expression to create an atmosphere. [TIPS] Meaning of AC AC displayed in the performance of armor and the status of each character is an abbreviation for "armor class", and it means comprehensive defense power that takes into account evasion power etc. . The lower the AC, the better, with the lowest defense being +10 and the highest being -10.If you donate a certain amount, you can revive dead characters and cure various status ailments. Resurrection by a temple high priest has a higher success rate than a resurrection spell cast by an adventurer.
In addition to being able to check the notices for adventurers, you can also receive rewards by visiting the castle with special items obtained in the labyrinth.
In addition to entering the labyrinth if you are in a party, you can create and delete characters, change their names, and change their occupations at the Training Grounds. When you visit the training grounds, your party will be disbanded and the members will return to the tavern. You can change various settings by selecting "Utility" → "Options". "Option" can be selected from the camp even in the labyrinth. Select "Pause Game" to save the current state and return to the title.
When set to "keyboard input", spell names and treasure box trap names are in English. It is fixed in the notation, and it is necessary to enter the name of the spell or trap with the keyboard in English when fighting or disarming the trap of the treasure box. Both will fail if you make a typo. If you set the setting to "Command input", you can select Japanese notation for both spell names and trap names again.
When turned on, the parts of the labyrinth that the player has crossed are automatically recorded. To check the map, you need to use the magic spell "Wizard Eye" or an item with the same effect each time. If you turn off automapping and use "Wizard Eye", the current position is indicated by the coordinates of the X and Y axes, and you can only see whether you are facing north, south, east or west.
If you select "TYPE 1" for "Pass items", you can select the item you want to pass with the up and down arrow keys, and the person you want to pass with the left and right buttons. You can reduce the amount of information displayed on the screen at one time. If you select "TYPE 2", all 6 people's belongings will be displayed at once, and you can choose who you want to give any item to.
When turned on, 9 buttons are displayed at the bottom right of the screen when exploring the labyrinth, allowing you to move forward/backward, search the spot, open the camp menu, etc. can be done by clicking a button on the screen.
In the "Others" item, you can perform partial key configuration, such as the behavior of each [W/A/S/D] key and the replacement of the OK key. . If you select "Key layout" at the bottom of the page, "Steam Controller Configurator" will start and you can perform detailed key configuration of the game pad.
From the top to the third are the "vanguard" during battle, and are frequently attacked by enemies. exposed. The 4th to 6th will be the "rearguard", and short-range attacks will not reach both enemies and allies. Of the official scenarios, ``Traveler's Property'' has six characters in advance in the bar: warrior, samurai, monk, thief, demon, and bishop. It is a well-balanced composition from a point of view. It might be a good idea to take this into consideration. For example, turning a warrior into a lord will give you 3 monk spellcasters to explore the labyrinth more safely. However, since there are 3 senior classes with slow leveling speed, it is expected that you will have a hard time in the early stages.
If you have a skilled wizard, samurai, or bishop, you can instantly return to the fortified city with the magic spell "Teleportation", but until you learn must return the way they came and escape. If you're just starting out, it's a good idea to start returning before you're halfway through your spells.
There are several burial chambers (small rooms with only one entrance) in the labyrinth. When you open the door and step into the burial chamber, an enemy will always appear, and the enemy will always drop a treasure chest. Use this to level up and acquire high-quality equipment. Even after defeating the enemy, if you return to the fortified city once, a guaranteed encounter will occur at the same place again.
Most treasure chests have traps. If there are thieves in your party, there is a high chance that you will be able to see through the traps and disarm them safely. If unsuccessful, various traps planted in the box will be triggered. The monk's spell "Divine Trap" can also detect traps with the same accuracy as thieves, but neither has a 100% success rate, so the two may look different.
"Examine character (detailed display of status etc.)", "Change order (row)", "Collect money/divide", "Remove from friends", You can select "Options". Allies designated by "remove from friends" leave the party and continue to stay there. To join again, select "Find Allies" from the "Submenu".
Search: "Explore" examines what is in front of you. "Find Friends" searches for friends on the spot, and if the party is 5 or less, you can join them.
Investigate: Examine what is in front of you. It is the same action as the above "exploration" → "exploration".
Suspend Menu: "Change Party" leaves the current party in place and returns to the Fortified City. As for how to use it, when you run out of spells in the depths of the labyrinth, you can dispatch another party from the fortified city to rescue them...etc. "Pause adventure" saves the current state and returns to the title screen. You can resume exploration by selecting "Outside of Town" → "Resuming Adventure".
Even if the party is annihilated for some reason, it will return to the fortified city. However, the bodies of party members are still left near where they were wiped out. If you send another party of 5 or less people to the same place and perform "Find Allies" near the annihilated area, you can find the corpse and collect it in the form of joining. Some of the collected corpses may have lost their belongings, and if they are annihilated in the labyrinth, the characters who lost their lives may be lost (disappeared) as they are.
Adventurers who have lost their lives may be reduced to ashes or lost (disappeared) when resuscitation fails. . Lost means that existence itself disappears from the world, and the only thing that can be done in that state is to pray for the deceased's soul. There is no way to revive it.
You can fast forward messages during battle with the left key. However, it is difficult to understand the progress of the turn, so be careful when using it in places with strong enemies.
You may be able to find a hidden door by "exploring" or "investigating" inside the labyrinth, but the light source inside the labyrinth is poor. It's a dark place where you can't see even a little bit ahead. You may also need some light to make sure your work is done.
You can change the order of the created characters at the training ground. By arranging the characters in the same order as when exploring the labyrinth, it will be easier to form a party at the tavern.
The bonus points given when creating a character at the training ground are randomly determined. Creating a character over and over again will give you big bonuses over time and may make your early adventures a little easier.
If you challenge a friendly monster in the labyrinth to battle, your personality will change from good to evil, and if you walk away, your character will change from evil to good. By using this, it is possible to create evil lords and good ninjas that cannot be created when creating characters or changing occupations.
This work carries over from the previous version, allowing you to enjoy various user-submitted scenarios. As of late December 2021, search settings and detailed notes regarding user scenarios have not yet been implemented, but you can check the overview of user scenarios that have been converted to this work on the old version of the site.
You can perform a soft reset with Ctrl + F1 while playing. This work auto-saves as appropriate, but the worst case is when you activate a trap that causes great damage to the party in the labyrinth, or when you are suddenly destroyed by a powerful monster's attack. situation can be avoided...maybe.
