Suzuki finally officially announces the new sports touring model "GSX-S1000GT" in Japan. As previously announced in Europe, it is a successor model to the conventional GSX-S1000F, but it is a new sports touring that has changed the car name from F to GT and has improved suitability for long touring. The design is edgy, reminiscent of a foreign car, and the riding position with the upper body raised is exactly the embodiment of "GT (Grand Tourer)". The current GSX-S1000F launched in 2015 was a sports touring model equipped with an engine based on the 2005 GSX-R1000 (commonly known as K5), but its ride quality is quite sporty and loadability is also regarded as important. It wasn't, so to speak, it was a standing position close to "up-handle super sports". This made the individuality stand out as a difference from the rival Ninja 1000 SX etc., but this model change started with a review of the riding position, improved the comfort of the passenger, the loadability of luggage, etc., making the best use of the conventional advantages. It has been reborn as a sports touring model with versatility that can be accepted by a wide range of riders. In addition to newly installing a two-way quick shifter and cruise control, the traction control system has evolved from 3 stages + OFF to 5 stages + OFF. By connecting to the Suzuki "mySPIN" app (iOS & Android) installed on your smartphone via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, you will be able to use phone functions, navigation, music (headset sold separately), calendar, etc. [Enlarge by tapping the photo] The electronic control system is newly equipped with SIRS (Suzuki Intelligent Ride System). This is a general term that includes a traction control system centered on an electronically controlled throttle, a bidirectional quick shift system, a cruise control system, a Suzuki drive mode selector (SDMS) that can switch power modes, a low RPM assist system, and a Suzuki easy start system. It is adopted following the V-Strom 1050 / XT. In addition to these, the ETC 2.0 on-board unit is also installed as standard equipment in the Japanese specifications. In addition, it is the first Suzuki to support the motorcycle application "SUZUKI mySPIN". By installing the app on a smartphone and linking it with a 6.5-inch full-color TFT LCD multi-information display, it will be possible to display not only driving status information but also maps and address books on the meter. A USB charging socket is also equipped next to the meter. It was announced that the price to be worried about is 1,595,000 yen, which is within 1.6 million yen. The release date is February 17, 2022. The explanation of the engine, car body, electronic control, etc. is detailed in the related article.
