Do you have such an experience? While enjoying the wonderful scenery and summer cocktails, you can vaguely enjoy the photos saved on your smartphone. While tapping around, I found that I had accidentally deleted a large number of photos from the device. You'll panic. Will the photos of important memories never come back?
These inquiries don't come directly from Lifehacker readers in the United States, but I found such a problem on Reddit's "HowTo" forum. After watching the dialogue there, readers are looking for a "photo restoration app" in online search, and it's also good to introduce how to restore mistakenly deleted photos in order not to experience the pressure of a cold sweat for a whole day.
On this forum, the screen name of the "Reddit" user, Mr. fire_arms, cried as follows:
It's easy to recover. Even if you accidentally delete a photo (whether it's one or all previous photos), just clicking on the trash can icon won't be completely erased. Click the Photo icon, and then scroll down the album item. So, in the end (this is the end of the main album, which is different from the later "my album"), you should see the album "recently deleted items". I think we'll find out soon. The simple gray, trash can-shaped icon is the logo.
Simply click this icon to restore accidentally deleted photos and videos. In the case of iPhone, deleted photos and videos are saved in this project within 30 days. The number shown in the photo is the number of days before it is completely erased. If the number is zero, the photo is automatically completely erased from the device.
If you delete photos stored in iCloud, the steps are the same. After deletion, it will not be deleted completely immediately. If you also open and restore the recently deleted items folder, it will soon be restored.
You can use the same function. First, automatically back up all photos to "Google photos", no matter what you place. If this application is not already installed on your Android device, open the Google Play page and install the application, and then select backup and synchronization on the Settings screen to automatically save photos from your device to the Google cloud.
If the automatic backup of Google photos is turned on, it is easy to restore deleted photos. There is a way to recover easily, even if you accidentally delete the image from your smartphone (on the Google photo screen). Open the Google photo, click the top 3 menu icons, and then click the Recycle Bin icon. Press the photo you want to restore for a long time from the photo displayed, and then click restore under the screen. If you delete a picture from an application other than Google photos, open the Google photo, select the photo you want to restore, and download it to your device.
What if you deleted your Google photos before setting up the automatic backup feature?
In the case of fire_arms introduced at the beginning, using DiskDigger, a free photo restoration application for Android recommended by other Reddit users "td888", can solve one thing.
The point is, if you find that you accidentally delete it, install the application as soon as possible. The application scans the device cache and thumbnails for recently deleted photos. If you find a photo that was accidentally deleted, you can restore it. However, DiskDigger also has the following comments, and a full recovery is hard to expect. Even so, it's better than doing nothing.
