[Did you draw this with your finger? Smartphone art that surprises everyone]
I didn't learn this smartphone art, Moehiro, but I learned it by myself. She started drawing when she was a junior high school student, and at that time she was using a smartphone with a broken screen and a free app. She gradually became a fan by uploading the pictures she drew on Twitter. When you first see the picture, everyone is surprised, "Did you draw this with your finger?" Although it is realistic as shown in the picture, there are also pictures with a light watercolor touch and a heavy oil painting touch, and it is also attractive to see her picture growing up in one year at the age of 17 in this first solo exhibition of Moehaku. is.
[A flood of participants in a 17-year-old online painting class]
Comments such as "How do you draw?" And "I want to draw myself" began to appear on Twitter, and in April of this year, as the new coronavirus spread, we started recruiting online painting classes. Today, about 80 students from all over Japan, aged 13 to 60, have gathered, some of whom attend art school.
Moehaku says, "It's more important to be able to express your talents and sensibilities than to learn techniques. If you want to do it, your talents and your worldview are more important than the stereotyped knowledge, educational background, and qualifications. The ability to believe in expressiveness is important, and I want to convey that. "
From the participants, "I want to be able to draw a picture like Moehiro-sensei with my smartphone" "I was able to discover a new self by taking on the challenge of respecting my individuality" "What I can learn from Moehiro-sensei" There are many other things besides paintings, and I think I can make use of them in my future. "
In the Moehaku classroom, young people who are worried about relationships and the current situation, and people who want to have the courage to insist on their own personality, are longing for and sympathizing with believing in the future and taking a step forward. There are many.
[Questions about routine school life, teenage decisions]
Moehaku's student life was not bright. I've loved painting since I was a kid, and I attended a design vocational school in high school, but I was wondering about the stereotyped lessons. Also, I couldn't communicate well with my classmates and couldn't find my whereabouts. When I was in the second year of high school, I talked to my parents about wanting to quit school and work as a painter many times, and as a result, her parents began to believe and support me.
After leaving high school, I was looking for a direction for my professional activities while presenting my works on Twitter, but my activities expanded as I gradually received requests for paintings and sold the published paintings, which was my dream. It was decided to hold the first solo exhibition.
There are still many dreams of 17 years old, such as "I want to create an art cafe where anyone can draw art, I want to sell clothes and accessories I designed, I want to make people beautiful."
[Infinite possibilities using SNS]
Moehaku's first solo exhibition has now become a reality as an online gallery and is being held until midnight on August 29, when he is 18 years old. From August 14th, a video of live painting on the beach will be added to this solo exhibition, and you can also see the painting and its world view. The music in this video was composed and played by a 16-year-old high school friend who was connected on Twitter.
"If you use a tool called Twitter, you can connect with the world, and I would like to continue to meet and collaborate with talented people of the same generation like this," he said with people of various genres. I'm also thinking about collaboration. There is also an e-commerce site in the online gallery, where you can buy things drawn by live painting, paintings you have drawn so far, as well as goods designed by Moehiro.
